The Stone Foxes Spoonful

Spoonful
When I heard that a new, young, indie band out of San Francisco was taking rock back to it's colorful roots, I was naturally skeptical. What roots are you guys talking about? Avril Lavigne and Disturbed? Not Exactly... My ears perked up when it was then revealed that these youngsters paid homage to an era sorely missed by my contemporaries by breathing new life into one of Willie Dixon's classics, "Spoonful".
My defensive posture abated slightly as The Stone Foxes' debut LP "Stereo" was passed to me and as the CD began spinning, Dixon's familiar guitar riff washed over me. I was instantly taken back to smokey Chicago blues clubs that predate this group by almost half a century. There's something to be said about authenticity in music these days, and The Stone Foxes are bringing it in full force. Needless to say, expect great things to come out of San Francisco with these guys on the scene.
