I just had my first taste of Slay Squad via the recently released video for "Seishin" and it absolutely kills. They call their sound "Ghetto Metal", but truth be told its nothing short of 100% fire and definitely one that grows on you from the very first listen. And in a world full of the same ole' same 'ole, their sound is radically different (and that is a good thing!) I'm definitely adding this one to my playlist and look forward to experiencing them LIVE in the not so distant future. Crank it up fuckers!!! - Matthew Belter

Equal parts radical art collective and hardcore punk band. SLAY SQUAD is comprised of a tightly knit but ruggedly individualistic brotherhood of visionary provocateurs, rhyme-slingers, beatmakers, video producers, metalcore shredders, bare-knuckle fighters, and street philosophers. Completely DIY to this day, the group came together as teenagers and built a rock-solid foundation around a multitude of shared interests, including hip-hop, metal, photography, and skating. Today's new track, "Seishin" is a perfect example of the band's unique and stylistically diverse sound that they refer to as "ghetto metal". "Seishin" exhibits the very best of this genre melting pot - savagely heavy beatdowns and ferociously gutteral screams combine seamlessly with slick, modern rap and trap elements creating authentic almost undefinable art that is both fresh and dangerously exhilarating.
