As the “mask up” initiative continues its quest to “stop the spread”, the panty lined parallels of treating our mouths like the rest of our orifices has been picking up steam. Cover up, avoid the spray and keep the secretions at bay. In her new song and video, Peaches marries her signature iconoclasm with the essence of the movement to present, “Pussy Mask”.

In the video, director Leah Shore’s illustration of Peaches’ side-shaved pussy drip-drops to the beat of her accomplishments eventually moshing with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Dr. Anthony Fauci and the angel of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. The absurdist cartoon pairs with the song’s electropunk bounce, complimenting its playful, yet assertive, lyrics. From pussy rocking out with politicos to peachy pussies bouncing in protest, “Pussy Mask'' is full of punny and memeable moments, creating a funhouse for the dark and uncertain moment that inspired the song.

Maintaining a “Pussy not Karen” attitude, these pussies stay liberated and their masks stay moist, but even these freewheeling pussies follow the rules and listen to Fauci. As people become more lax from the vax, Peaches reminds us to keep wearing our “Pussy Mask”.

Xhaania’s saucy lyrics and fresh new approach to R&B music has substantially altered the music scene. Her single ‘In the Middle’ has recently gained a lot of attention from big music channels like BET, Revolt and Music Choice. She has been able to generate a lot of buzz without the help of a major label which for an independent artist is a major accomplishment. She is creating a lane of her own by mixing dancehall, r&b, soul, pop and hip hop to create a captivating and compelling new sound. Her music video is energetic and captures her style and silky-smooth vocals.

Xhaania (Pronounced ZA-NEE-AH) is a 22-year-old singer, songwriter and recording artist born in Los Angeles, California. As a child, she grew up in a poverty-stricken area in St. Catherine, Jamaica. Here, she was surrounded by a lot of love, Jamaican music and culture. This had a heavy influence on her music and sound as an artist. Growing up very shy, she found the arts as a means to create her own world. Naturally, she gravitated towards music, dance and performance. When she moved back to the US, she started writing poems and songs as a way to cope with her homesickness and sadness. She also trained in different forms of dance to build her confidence. because she was bullied in school for her accent and dark skin tone. Singing and dancing has always been a form of healing and a way she could express her emotions. Living in the states, she became more exposed to different styles of music and dance. She often pulls from these different influences to create her own style by mixing genres.

In 2017, she started recording her songs on Garage Band and her parents took an interest. With their support, she ventured into the music industry in 2018. She recently graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and now attends Musicians Institute for the Independent Artist program. Her latest single called ‘Mash up yuh Head’ has a strong reggae influence and features the Jamaican artist, Thugsy Malone. Her music has also featured on movies like ‘Choice’ and ‘Born Bad’ which are all available on Amazon. Now she is working on her first EP set to be release in. spring of 2020. Xhaania’s influence in music is very powerful.

Many of her supporters have stated that her music has helped them get through major challenges in their lives. It’s amazing that her music can help people and be a form of healing and therapy. This inspires her to continue expressing the many layers of herself through songwriting. It has been an amazing journey so far and she will continue to grow and express herself through different forms of art like music, dance and fashion. She loves the creative arts and brands herself as not just a recording artist but as a creative person that unapologetically expresses her truth. She wants her music to make a positive impact and inspire young people from all over the world to follow their dreams and believe in themselves. 2021 looks like a great year for Xhaania. Keep an eye out for this artist, she is expected to do great things in this industry.

As a young music publisher I came across the Seattle band Sky Cries Mary back in 1991. Around the time SCM released the EP Exit At The Access. The moment I heard Roderick Wolgamott and his forever evolving cast of incredibly talented creators and musicians, well, I instantly fell in love and have been a lifelong fan and supporter. Their blend of space rock mysticism, psychedelic tribal jam band mixed with ethereal vocals has always come across as profound.

There's deep affection for the group in the Film Music Supervisor community. "The Elephant Song" was featured on the soundtrack for the movie The Harvest. "Shipwrecked" was featured on the soundtrack for the movie Tank Girl and their song "Cornerman" was featured in the movie Higher Learning.

Sky Cries Mary recently released their 11th album entitled Secrets of a Red Planet. Featured here is the single/video for "Waves of Morning". It's memorizing and a suitable preview for the rest of the album.

I encourage all to dive in to the full Secrets of a Red Planet album. Much more to come from Roderick, Ben Ireland, Debora Reese, Curt Eckman, Kevin Whitworth and Jack Endino.

Hunnypot Live is malleable. Without performers and guests we (Hot Tub Johnnie, Jeff Gray, Ryan Taalbi, Justin "Juice" Born) pulled off a classic Hunnypot Live show reminiscent of the early days of Hunnypot (Radio). Jason Cienkus came through to discuss his music supervision career, exciting new happenings and absolutely amazing playlists. Future Hunnypot Live guest, Sean The Star Emperor, also stopped by to chat and life and music. We can't wait to see you all again very soon. 3/16/2020

Jason Cienkus

JASON CIENKUS (MUSIC SUPERVISOR)

Jason started his career at the forefront of music supervision in the 90’s that led to an illustrious run at Warner Bros. Records. He was part of the duo that started the very first soundtrack department at that label, which was responsible for the production of movie soundtracks tallying over $30 million in worldwide sales. His passion for film and the marketing of the music from it, guided him to a position at New Line Cinema where he spearheaded soundtrack strategy, marketing and synergies across the company.

Sensing a dramatic shift in the music business, Jason pivoted to digital and found himself at the center of the halcyon days of YouTube creators and digital influencers. His position at the boutique start up DanceOn gave him an opportunity to break ground in the music licensing area for YouTube content. In addition, he created a digital marketing platform for the company where social media and video influencers could use music effectively to market and promote artists & songs in a natural and organic way. This tactic has now become a key part of digital marketing plans for record labels, artist managers & musicians.

Jason is currently working on a dance competition show as the music supervisor & music clearance lead titled ‘Floored’, which is being produced for the new streaming platform Quibi that will launch in April 2020.

Jason is a pop culture enthusiast who has his finger on the pulse of entertainment across all media, verticals & platforms. A list of past projects can be provided upon request.

Before he was known as INDICA, he was known at his highschool for being the all-star varsity player and although it seemed Football was his calling, he had a deeper passion for music.  Born and raised in Washington D.C, INDICA has found a way to catch his fans attention through his aesthetics and sound! INDICA may be considered “Indie and Underground” but he is paving his way into the mainstream platform!

His most latest single “Hollywood on Fire” has over 33K streams on Spotify, and if you haven’t checked the music video, you have to! To start off, INDICA directed this one and like all his other music videos, you are visually greated with a black and white theme and the occasional visual distortion. The music video starts off with a news broadcast on how the fires and smoke are reaching Hollywood Mansions and Movie Studios! The opening of the video highlights the Hollywood Hills and then focuses on two individuals wearing ski masks and driving a maserati. As the video continues, INDICA highlights the flaws of Hollywood and really sets the tone of what he is really trying to say. The Pre-Chorus says it all, “Where we come to sin yeah, Where evil begins, Where people pretend!”. If you haven’t checked his latest single, do it now! And if you are in LA, INDICA will be playing the Hunnypot Live at The Mint party April 13th.

Last night Hunnypot Live got your motors runnin'.  Sleazy rider, Hot Tub Johnnie, pulled a secret stash of tracks to start the night off.  Big Tim cooled his engines in the hot tub and gave us a personal look in to his lifestyle brand of babes, bikes, fashion and of course music. Premier A Cappella returned to Hunnypot Live with a rolling thunder of harmonies and charmities.  Zana Messia and the Midnight Mission used her loud pipes to save lives and and encourage stage dives.  Super Bee Binx once again delivered a full tank of pop fuel.  Oppenheimer performed catchy pop with a "blacked out" finish and Hot Tub bookended the night with shop manual music to teach everyone to dance. (3/2/20)

Unfortunately the audio recording was not saved properly and the show was lost. :(

ZANA MESSIA & THE MIDNIGHT MISSION

Artist and songwriter Zana Messia - originally from the Balkans, grew up in Sweden where she escaped as a war refugee. Her music has been recorded in 6 languages, featured in film and TV, released by artists from the US, New Zealand, China, Sweden and Eastern Europe. She has been shortlisted for an Academy Award for best original song and was the featured artist in the FIFA Cup “Samba of The World” campaign.

Zana’s most recent musical undertaking is the creation of her alter-ego punk/rock/soul band The Midnight Mission, which reinterprets Zana’s songs in a raw, edgy fashion, aiming to challenge outdated labels such as genre and radio formats. Her upcoming album “11:11” is essentially an experiment. Each song is produced in two significantly different ways. The album is produced by the Grammy nominated producer/bass player Billy Mohler.

“Zana Messia refers to The Midnight Mission as her altered ego, because the project allows her to detour from writing contemporary pop songs to penning music from edgier genres like punk rock, alternative and soul. One of the band’s most eclectic compositions is a love song entitled Enuff.”

Zana Messia just released the music video for her single “L.A. Minute”, an ode to Los Angeles as the city where reality can change on a dime. This is the second single from Zana’s new double album entitled 11:11.

There’s nothing Phony about this video, you could tell  from the beginning what was in store for those cheating male egos and their overconfident character trait. There's an instant party vibe channeling the 90s, glamorized by antique sports cars, driven by a strong female lead. The futuristic theme tells a story of femininity taking on the alpha male role. Lil Kim, Nicki Minaj and a few female artists have dominated this genre to send this  message of women  empowerment. The video style and  visuals delivers cross over fashion  styles from Marilyn pinup hair dos, to J’Los Furr,  Mariah Careys body shimmered Corsets  and Cardi B’s Knee-high boot.

Hot men were outnumbered in this video piece as the eye candy; It’s like “California love” by Tupac meets “Run the World” by Beyonce"

Pardon me, or whomever, last night's Hunnypot Live was judged a winner. Hot Tub Johnnie started by sentencing everyone with a party music playlist. Jeff Cardoni get yard time with Hot Tub and DJ Spectrum to talk about his illustrious composing career. He also brought a playlist he enjoys in solitary. Torrey Mercer sang arresting pop music tunes. Billy Hammer pleaded his 5th instruments to us for desert soundscapes. Stoops & Tone Gold broke rocks and raps live on stage. Tucker Lives commuticated sweet soul pop music and Hot Tub closed the night with another prison riot dance party. (2/17/2020)

STOOPS - What up doe? I know bios are reserved for the third person, but I like speaking for myself, so you’re stuck with me.

While I call L.A. home these days, Detroit will always have my heart. I was born and raised there, but after watching Entourage and visiting the west, I knew I had to move there to see what the hype was all about. But before all of that, I was just a young boy in Detroit. Hip-hop was always there for me, but it wasn’t until I listened to The Slim Shady LP on a family road trip that I knew it was deeper than just being a fan. It was my calling. I had to make somebody feel the same way Em was making me feel. It was MANDATORY.

Fast forward and we’re here; over 500,000 video views, over 100,000 streams, and a feat that nobody else in the history of music has accomplished (google the 52 Week Remix Challenge). And most importantly, we’ve barely scratched the surface. So if you’re reading this, I hope to call you a fan. And if you aren’t, stick around. It’s only a matter of time. What up doe? I know bios are reserved for the third person, but I like speaking for myself, so you’re stuck with me.

TONE GOLD - Rhymes written with potent precision balanced between braggadocios hooks over car-friendly beats make up the essential elements that craft the Tone Gold experience. Tone hails from the Midwest, Cleveland, OH, which he so warmly calls “The Land”.
