The Hunnypot Unlimited brand is synonymous with quality music and recognized as one of the premier industry tastemaker sources. Hunnypot provides exclusive promotion, marketing, brand development and placement representation of owned and non-owned copyright and recording assets through expansive relationships within the music, film, television, ad and gaming communities using unique, forward thinking approaches to business and distinct and creative grass roots campaigns. Hunnypot Radio and the Hunnypot Website provide instant awareness of Hunnypot artist activity as well as contemporary music news and other culturally relevant media.
John spent the first 20 years of his career in the music industry as an integral member of Windswept Music Publishing. He helped take the company from a fledgling start-up to the largest independent Music Publisher in the world, a feat that recently resulted in one of the most lucrative catalogue sales in Music Publishing history.
In 2008 John applied the A&R/Publisher/Placement model to the branded Hunnypot name and established itself as a leading independent music publishing/placement company representing the catalogues of Far East Movement, Louis Prima Jr., The Dollyrots, Barnyard Stompers, Mochipet, Young Creatures, The Cataracs, Dr. Hollywood, A House For Lions, Bearheart, J*LABS and Ghost Lit Kingdom.
John’s early track record as a song-plugger boasts hits like Eric Clapton’s “Before You Accuse Me” and Vanessa Williams’ career-defining song “Save The Best For Last.” Over the course of his industrious Publishing career, John has worked closely with some of the biggest songwriters of all-time including Sean Garrett (Usher “Yeah”, Fergie “London Bridge”), Mike Elizondo (50 Cent “In Da Club”, Mary J. Blige “Family Affair”) and Albert Hammond (Julio Iglesias “To All The Girls I’ve Loved Before,” The Hollies “The Air That I Breathe”).
As Sr. Vice President of Film & Television Music for Windswept, John was essential in the synchronization and licensing careers of such seminal artists as Pete Townsend, John Mellencamp, Nick Cave, The Allman Brothers and Willie Nelson as well as new stars like Corrine Bailey Ray, Snow Patrol, Kings of Leon, Beyonce, Mickey Avalon and Lady Sovereign. Some personal placement triumphs for John include Snow Patrol “Chasing Cars” in Grey’s Anatomy, The Who songs featured in the entire CSI franchise, Kings of Leon’s “Molly’s Chamber” for Volkswagon, and The Dollyrots “Because I’m Awesome” for both Hewlitt/Packard and Kohl’s Department Stores.
As one of the key A&R representatives for Windswept, some of John’s signings included Fischerspooner, The Dollyrots, Meat Beat Manifesto, The Cramps, Talib Kweli, Blackstar, The Coup, Hi-Tek, The BellRays, Johnette Napollitano (Concrete Blonde) and Shy Child.
John is also on the Music Industry Executive Fundraising Committee for the City of Hope, the premier Music Industry charity organization and was a member of the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Film & Television Task Force.
Hunnypot Unlimited was originally formed to create “community” within the then burgeoning film, television, ad and gaming music fields. After quickly accomplishing this mission by establishing itself as the epicenter of the industry’s social community, Hunnypot has gone on to acquire meaningful copyrights and masters, discover and develop commercially viable talent and leverage strong industry experience and relationships to generate significant income streams and exposure for our talent and our sponsor partners.
The name “Hunnypot” was first introduced in 2000 by music industry veterans John Anderson (at the time, Sr. VP of Creative/Film & TV for Windswept Music) and composer agent Tammy Krutchkoff. In an effort to bolster internal support for their soon-to-be highly significant and lucrative area of the Entertainment Industry, Hunnypot was originally designed as a “mixer” for the rapidly growing Film, Television, Ad and Gaming Music and Soundtrack fields. By way of monthly parties and one-off events throughout the world, the Hunnypot Party has come to symbolize an electrifying, exhilarating and stimulating experience for the entire creative community.
In November 2005, John Anderson and top-tier Music Supervisor PJ Bloom launched Hunnypot Radio; a live, interactive “listening session” emanating from the Hunnypot studios and streamed over the Internet at the HunnypotUnlimited.com site. This bi-weekly radio show draws a consistent audience of music and entertainment industry professionals, artists and songwriters, friends, acquaintances and the creative community at large. Not only has the radio show generated extraordinary industry buzz and favorable press, it has led to sponsorships from beverage and lifestyle companies (including Korbel Champagne, Tito’s Vodka, Bionade, Hubert’s Lemonade, Blue Microphones, IZZE & Kenwood Wines).
In September 2007 and after 18-years with the company, John Anderson left his role as Sr. VP of Film & TV Music/Creative at Windswept Music so that he could focus his attention on Hunnypot Unlimited in order to fulfill his greater, long-term goals for the brand.
Presently, Hunnypot has established itself as a leading independent music publishing/placement company.
Hunnypot Unlimited’s core business is its Music Publishing, Placement and Licensing division. Hunnypot provides exclusive promotion, marketing, brand development and placement representation of owned and non-owned copyrights and recording assets through expansive relationships within the music, film, television, ad and gaming communities using unique, forward thinking approaches to business and distinct, creative grass roots campaigns.

In Los Angeles’ fertile, Smell-centered mid-2000s noise-rock scene, no one got as close to pure pop as the dearly departed Mae Shi, a supercollider that often sounded like a dozen bands’ ideas being realized at once. Not surprisingly, they’ve splintered into nearly a dozen other groups since their dissociation in 2009; specifically, band member Jeff Byron has created Batwings Catwings, Physical Forms (which included left-field rapper Busdriver as a member), and Turbo Lightning, a quartet that also pulls in Dana Poblete (Batwings Catwings), Aaron Farinelli, and Zach Lewis (Hex Horizontal). The first single from their self-titled EP (out November 15), “Faster Than Light”, is the most instantly accessible Mae Shi-affiliated output yet; whereas HLLLYH bounced off the walls, “Faster than Light” gallops forward with purpose and assurance, palm-muted metal riffs providing a pacesetter for Poblete’s sweetened vocals. Still, “Faster than Light” allows itself to veer from the center of the road, making judicious use of spirited cheerleading group vocals and spastic drum fills to remind you who’s behind this.

That show and Braggin’ Rights at Nuyorican Poets Café changed my life for sure.”

This LA quartet completely set the stage for the night as KW rocked out with a smokin' set of rock n' roll gems, sprinkled with an alt-folk/indie vibe. Nikki Triplett comes to us from Lionsgate Film Music. She’s worked at Lionsgate for nearly 2 years and has worked on such films as THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 2, NOW YOU SEE ME, RED 2 and the current mega hit THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE. She was involved in the re-launching of LG Records that has since released original motion picture music for films such as THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER, WARM BODIES, THE POSSESSION, EXPENDABLES 2. When Nikki’s not at work or attending shows she can be found attempting a handstand on practically any surface (esp after a glass of wine.. but doesn’t recommend others try this… Nikki is an (un)trained professional). This is Nikki’s first DJing gig and even though the Texan in her so desires, she promises not to play all country (hopefully…. yeehaw).
King Washington is a powerhouse of cinematic texture, vocal harmony, and musical prowess. We are very happy to have them kick off the bands for this edition of the Hunnypot Radio Show.
LA Font is a rock band based in Echo Park. If you read about music, you are probably familiar with Echo Park as it has become famous as the neighborhood a mere 7 miles northeast of where the Notorious B.I.G. was gunned down. Unlike the late Biggie Smalls, LA Font records a brand of rock and roll that some have branded “independent” or, for short, “indie.” There are other bands in Echo Park that have followed suit and made a similar brand of “inde rock.” Plus they have Golden Ladies. Check em out to see what I mean.
Decørator is the music of three brothers and close friends. These young icons in the making have a high energy set, a great vibe, and musicianship beyond their years. Come and peep their set @ 11pm.

However the highlight was definitely her performance where she rocked out over heavy sampled beats with her witty spitfire flow.

Huge thanks to everyone that came out to support, perform, and both the The Mint and Hunnypot crews. We couldn’t make it all happen without each and every one of you! 12/02/2013
Beth Martinez’s philosophy on music isn’t just conducive to the success of her music PR firm, Danger Village. “I feel like we all want to share music with people,” she states, a perspective that Martinez adamantly believes. “I promote music I truly love and think other people should hear.” This attitude, and what has become her firm’s driving principal, is distinctive when looking at the myriad of firms at large within such a competitive industry. Such genuine appreciation for an atmosphere seemingly drenched in survival of the fittest is refreshing and one that continues to attract more artists every day.
This balance has created buzz resulting in clients such as MØ, FIDLAR, The Preatures, High Highs, holychild, and Fallulah. Martinez has found the combination of trusting her own musical taste, and instant emotional response, as the perfect affirmation for working with an artist. She believes, “That’s the key to being good PR., and the key to being a good human being. It’s not just to use people, but to really appreciate what they do as a music source.” The inclusive nature of music is what initially drew Martinez to music PR. Citing herself as a “late bloomer” when it comes to contemporary music, she is now at the forefront, representing some of the industry’s most talked about acts.
Having worked with the now infamous “I Think We’re Alone Now” semi-pop idol, Tiffany, on her college comeback tour back at the University of Illinois, Martinez was asked to join the traveling merchandise team. While she declined that offer back in 2001, she recognized it as a springboard into “ propelling her from passive music lover to passionate music rep.” She is now the founder and head of Danger Village, her music PR firm based in Los Angeles. (Written by Claire McKinzie)
We're kicking off the show with an exciting up-and-coming performer: Nova Rockafeller. Even though her album isn't out yet, she's worked with She Wants Revenge's Justin Warfield and has been remixed by the Hood Internet. Get ready for a blowout awesome set!
The Hidden Lines are a Los Angeles based band centered around guitarist, lead singer and songwriter Adam Yarbro. With an original guitar sound focused on new and interesting effects and progressions, their aim is to produce a modern psychedelic-yet-pop vibe, while incorporating classic rock and blues guitar-driven influences. The band have played numerous popular venues in Southern California such as The Viper Room, Hotel Café, and El Cid, as well as being active in the Las Vegas music scene. The Hidden Lines are comprised of Adam Yarbro on guitar and vocals, Dean Mozian on drums, Raphael Bello on bass and Alex Zudin on keyboards. Their full-length debut album, Auralize, is available now.
The Royal Oui is married couple Adrienne Pierce and Ari Shine’s new band. Close harmonies evoke Fleetwood Mac and Fleet Foxes in songs that would fit on playlists with Civil Wars and Wilco. Their successful solo careers include dozens of TV placements on shows like Grey’s Anatomy, direct support for artists like Ray Lamontagne and Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters), making the 2013 Grammy ballot and showcases at SXSW, NXNE and festivals worldwide.
Forebear is a folk rock band from Los Angeles, CA. The band is comprised of Scott Goldbaum on guitar and vocals, Mike Musselman on drums, Molly Rogers on viola and vocals, and Nick Chamian on bass. Wild Cub plays acoustic songs that build to great orchestral finales. Check out the single for their song “Motions,” available on their bandcamp page.

LA's own, Mikey Pauker went on next and completely packed the house as his loyal fans took over The Mint. Mikey performed a brilliant set of folk pop jams reminiscent of Jack Johnson and even Fleet Foxes.
Hitting the stage a little after 11pm and completely blowing the roof off was LA based Irish rockers, The Black Shamrocks. They rocked out with a Guiness-fueled set of unique Celtic rock backed by high energy punk grooves that brings to mind Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphy's, but with a swagger and style that is perfected by lead singer, Amy Showalter.

Glancing deeply into her crystal ball you will see that Chelsea has been moving mountains since the age of 14. Being a Texas native, nothing stands in Chelsea’s way from attaining her lifelong dreams of joining the circus (also known as the music industry). She’s written for several publications, handled marketing campaigns for various labels, and toured the world with numerous bands. Find her today predicting tomorrow’s next big thing over at High Voltage, a music magazine, marketing and management company Chelsea started 10 years ago.
Eclectic Approach is a band built on perseverance. After three self released albums and four years of constant touring, the band was selected at SXSW as the top unsigned band in the U.S. by the Ourstage Panel, which included industry heavyweights Bruce Tyler (former VP of Sony and Columbia Music), Scott Igoe (talent booker for Jimmy Kimmel Live), Sharon Dastur (Program Director Z100, New York, NY) and Lee Dannay (Vice President of A&R Warner/Chappell Music). The band was flown to New York City to record an EPK with legendary producer David Hewitt (U2, Aretha Franklin) and Emmy Award winning director Mitchell Stewart. Most recently the band was a musical guest on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Originally a hip-hop group, EA’s music has grown and developed into a blend of electro-funk, dance, pop and garage rock that just feels and sounds like a party. “We just love a good party,” said singer Jowed Hadeed, “we want people to come to a show and just freak out for a while. It’s cathartic for us and them.”
Mikey Pauker is an emerging folk music artist hailing from Los Angeles, California. Kicking off the live performances were LA based rock band Black Belt Karate. Despite being short a member BBK powered on with a blistering acoustic set of tracks off their current EP titled Volume 1.
LA's own, Adult Cinema took to the stage next and blew us away with their infectious hooks of soul and rockin' disco beats. They brought a killer garage rock sound that is late 70s punk rock worthy and topped it with dashes of new wave and power pop that had us all moving and grooving all night. We highly recommend listening back to their smokin' set.
Closing out the show was none other than LA based alt-folk rockers, A House For Lions. Shane Carpenter came to LA 4 years ago and fell in love with the music scene. At a show early in his LA stay, he was inspired to change his focus from art to music. In and around music, he has created LA Phun, blogged for LA Record, and booked shows at Hear Gallery. Most recently, Carpenter’s been one of the co-creators of LA’s All Scene Eye; a collective designed to represent the different arts communities that its founders are invested in. All Scene Eye hosts a free monthly event at the Virgil the first Tuesday of every month.
Black Belt Karate formed in summer 2012 after one-time bandmates Mezilis and Hanifl reconnected, after a previous stint in LA indie rock band Your Horrible Smile. The quartet is rounded out by bassist Harry Anthony Ostrem and drummer Ryan Brown – both veterans of countless stage, film and studio work who have recently collaborated with members of Guns N’ Roses, Rush and David Bowie. The band released their debut EP "Volume 1" [Organic Audio / BFM Digital] on April 23, 2013. Black Belt Karate is produced, recorded and mixed by Jason Achilles Mezilis at Organic Audio Recorders, LA - all tracks mastered by Mike Houge.
L.A.-based garage-rockers Adult Cinema carbon-date to the late 1970s, when punk rock was morphing into a thing called new wave and power-pop bands were adapting their infectious hooks to soul and disco beats. Enormous fun at the time, and just as exhiliarating the way singer-guitarist Randy Michael and his quintet are doing it now. Michael didn’t just pop out of a loft in Hollywood — he has a long resumé that includes stints in Atlanta’s mod revivalists The Booze, along with gigs playing for Public Enemy, Butch Walker and London’s Joe Lean & the Jing Jang Jong. Now relocated to L.A., Michael has also stood in with Tin Nordwind’s Pyrramids and St. Louis punkers Living Things. (And he cameos as drummer in two of the new David Bowie videos.) Adult Cinema is a coed affair, including Kristin Brokaw (last spotted playing in Rocket), Katy Keys (Crimson Lust), Bosh Berlin (Living Things/Pyrramids) and Andy Moreno (Babylon Sweethearts).
Daniel Norman, singer/songwriter of A House for Lions, was a music lover who never intended to become a musician. But while hitchhiking through Germany, a melody and a few words popped into his head and never left. In that moment, he realized it might be possible to get off of the fence and create a project of his own; at least, it would be fun to try. In early 2010 he found an unlikely group of strangers, adding guitarist and designer Mike Nissen, bass player Eric McCann and drummer Joe Luisi, A House for Lions has developed a sound that according to The Deli Magazine “manages to blend the sleeker side of angsty 90s rock with the laid-back instrumentation and heart-string pulling melodies you might expect from an alt-country band”.
